On 27, 28 and 29 October 2026, the Bavarian Research Alliance (BayFOR) invites Bavarian and Ukrainian stakeholders from academia, industry, municipalities and public institutions to its free webinar series "Bavaria-Ukraine Cooperation in Research and Innovation - EU Project Essentials: From Idea to Implementation".

In three consecutive webinars of 2.5 hours each, BayFOR’s funding experts will provide practical knowledge on the development and implementation of European research and innovation projects. The webinars cover the entire journey from project idea to implementation: from selecting suitable funding programmes and building a strong consortium to developing a compelling proposal, budget planning and project management.

The “EU Project Essentials” also provides the methodological foundation for a broader webinar series on Bavarian-Ukrainian cooperation in research and innovation. From early 2027 onwards, further information and networking events will follow, covering topics including environment and climate, energy and renewable energy, agriculture and the bioeconomy, as well as the reconstruction of Ukraine.

27 October 2026 | EU Project Essentials – Funding Opportunities & Call Analysis
Which EU funding programmes are suitable for Bavarian-Ukrainian cooperation? In addition to Horizon Europe, you will learn about programmes such as LIFE and Interreg as well as relevant call portals. You will learn how to identify and analyse suitable calls, correctly assess their requirements, and strategically align your project idea with an appropriate funding opportunity.

28 October 2026 | EU Project Essentials – Consortium Building & Proposal Development
How do you build a strong international project consortium? How do you find suitable partners – and how can you jointly develop a compelling EU proposal? You will learn about support services for finding international project partners, including the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN). You will also receive practical tips on proposal development and gain insights into the evaluation of project proposals.

29 October 2026 | EU Project Essentials – Project Management & Budget Calculation
How do you plan the budget for an EU project, and what does successful project management involve? The webinar provides practical insights into eligible costs and financial reporting principles, taking into account the different requirements of companies, municipalities, universities, and research institutions. Finally, participants will learn what matters when it comes to implementing a project in practice.

The three webinars build on one another in terms of content. For a comprehensive overview, we therefore recommend attending all three sessions. However, it is also possible to attend individual webinars.

The webinars are free of charge, will take place via MS Teams, and will be held in English.
